Official Launch and Information Session

The event marked a significant milestone in unveiling plans for the upcoming conference while providing key insights into participation and ticketing.
Opening Remarks
The session was opened by the licensee and organiser, Tebson Haruna Mohammed, who emphasized that the 2026 conference has been meticulously designed to re-establish TEDxUniversityofCapeCoast as a leading university-based TEDx platform in Ghana. He further highlighted the conference's mission to represent University of Cape Coast on the global stage, noting the institution's recognition among top universities in Ghana, West Africa, and Africa, according to Times Higher Education.
Programme Overview
The programme began with an overview of TED and its independently organised TEDx initiatives, outlining the vision, objectives, and ongoing projects of the TEDxUniversityofCapeCoast team. Participants were also introduced to the conference structure, ticketing procedures, and the various categories of access available for the 2026 event.
SRC President's Address
Also in attendance was the President of the University of Cape Coast Students' Representative Council (SRC), Kwame Ntiamoah Ntim, who spoke on the impact of TEDxUniversityofCapeCoast within the university community. Theme Unveiling: Kintsugi — Beauty in Imperfection
A major highlight of the launch was the unveiling of the 2026 conference theme, "Kintsugi: Beauty in Imperfection." Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of finding strength and value in flaws, the theme explores resilience, perseverance, skill development, and the pursuit of excellence despite challenges and setbacks.
The theme was unveiled by Curator Madeleine Yamoah-Asante, while a live ticket purchasing demonstration was conducted by Joel Anarba, Lead for Design and Web Development.
Participation and Next Steps
The virtual session attracted approximately 80 participants via Google Meet, with many expressing enthusiasm and anticipation for the upcoming conference. The event concluded with expressions of appreciation to the organising team and participants, after which the meeting was formally adjourned.
The TEDxUniversityofCapeCoast 2026 Conference is expected to bring together innovative thinkers, leaders, and changemakers to share ideas that inspire growth, resilience, and transformative impact.
